Comment on Pat Robertson Says Divorce Okay if Spouse has Alzheimers by Simeon

The secular world had a better grip on this issue than Robertson. The movie, "The Notebook," based on Nicolas Sparks’ novel was a wonderful story about a husband who was dealing with his wife's Alzheimer's condition and refused to just leave her at the convalescent home. The characters in the movie very much exemplified the real life of my wife's grandfather and his wife, who have both passed. In Mel’s case, like James Garner's character in the film, he had to release his wife to the care of professional caregivers. Mel was too old and frail himself to care for his wife. But he visited every day, even though it pained him horribly to see her ravaged by the "sundowners" part of Alzheimer's disease when she would get violent and curse repeatedly at the staff. Robertson compromises God's Word when he made the statement he made. Should his assertion also be true of a spouse whose husband or wife becomes paralyzed and incapacitated? Would it be okay for the healthy spouse to just leave? He is so wrong. How is it possible he is considered a champion of the Christian faith with ideology like this?

Pat Robertson has proven in the past to be a false prophet so I don't want his opinion on anything. I turn away from such and hope others will too!
